so yes! a song for Mardi Gras, sort of kind of not really, described by the original artist as "swamp cabaret," now changed into "creepy self-regulating forest cabaret," i guess. i know Zecora isn't really a villain in even a broad sense of the word and this whole thing comes off as more Nightmare Night than Mardi Gras but i have a very good reason for that and that reason is OH GOD LOOK OVER THERE SO MANY MONKEYS *flee*

EDIT 2/22: made a few tweaks to things that i missed last night in my marginally conscious haze but that i now perceive with the light of better-faked consciousness. one of my ambitions for this piece was to have a long stream of music notes winding and twisting over the panels and down the borders, like a visual representation of the music. never figured out how to do that in Photoshop, so if any of y'all have an idea, it would be mucho appreciated in the maximum extreme.
